Mr. Wolf’s practice includes all areas of representation of clients in matrimonial disputes as well as determination of parentage, child custody, child support and parenting time involving unmarried couples. Additionally, Mr. Wolf negotiates and prepares prenuptial agreements and provides tax advice related to divorce. His clients range from stay-at-home parents to men and women in business, professions, entertainment and athletics. Mr. Wolf practices in the Courts of Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Trumbull, Mahoning, Summit, Lorain and Medina Counties of Ohio, as well as the Courts of Appeals and Supreme Court of Ohio.

Long recognized as a national leader in family law, Marshall J. Wolf is president and founding principal of the firm. Mr. Wolf was admitted to practice before the Courts of Ohio in 1967, the U.S. District Court in 1969 and the Supreme Court of the United States in 2008. His sole area of practice is family law. Mr. Wolf created family law practices in two law firms prior to Wolf and Akers.

Mr. Wolf is an honors graduate of Miami University (1964) where he was a Fellow of the Department of Government. Following graduation from Case Western Reserve School of Law (1967), he served as a staff attorney and law clerk to the judges of the Common Pleas Court of Cuyahoga County. In 1969, he joined the firm of Metzenbaum, Gaines, Finley and Stern, eventually becoming a principal in the firm and directing the family law practice unit. From 1981 until the formation of Wolf and Akers, Mr. Wolf was founding director in the firm of Schwarzwald, Robiner, Wolf and Rock, LPA, where he led the family law practice unit.

Mr. Wolf is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, having been the first President of the Ohio Chapter. He was an original Charter Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and was elected by his peers as Chair of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association (1992-93), Chair-Elect, Vice Chair and Secretary. Mr. Wolf is currently serving his third multi-year term representing the Family Law Section in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, and he is a lifetime Ex Officio member of the governing Council of the Family Law Section.
